Dynamics and control implementation of a supercritical CO<sub>2</sub> simple recuperated cycle

Interest in supercritical CO2 power cycles is constantly increasing, showing good efficiency, and promising competitive costs enhanced flexibility with respect to competing systems. Some project within the EU Horizon 2020 program have studied these systems aim demonstrate them large scale, following example of STEP US. This work part effort SOLARSCO2OL build a sCO2-CSP demo plant at MW scale. A dynamic model simple recuperated sCO2 cycle developed TRANSEO, using miniREFPROP compute fluid properties, table properties are implemented, when possible, enhance performance code. Control logics described controllers implemented. Finally, tested response main parameters ramp variation load. Stable compressor inlet pressure achieved an inventory control, while stable turbine temperature allows high efficiency part-load operation.
